Changes to this year's election
The Pueblo West Metropolitan District has entered into an agreement with Community Resource Services of Colorado to provide election services for the May 2 Board of Directors election.
On Jan. 27, the office of Pueblo County Clerk Candace Rivera declined the Metro District’s request to conduct the election. The decision resulted in the Metro District Board of Directors seeking a third-party to administer May’s election.
- What does this mean for Pueblo West voters?
-
This election will remain a mail ballot election. Because the District has enjoyed the cooperation with Pueblo County in the past, the District has not developed a group of trained staff which would be adequate to conduct the May 2023 election. Recognizing the fundamental importance of election integrity, the Board of Directors approved a contract with a private company that has substantial experience conducting special district elections, Community Resource Services of Colorado, to conduct the special election.
The Board urges every eligible voter to exercise their right to vote for their community representatives.
- How do I return my ballot?
-
Ballots may be returned by U.S. Postal Service (postage required) in a signed return envelope included with the ballot, to Community Resource Services at 7995 E. Prentice Avenue Suite 103E, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 (map). Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on May 2, 2023 to be counted.
Ballots may also be returned by 7 p.m. on May 2, 2023 to a ballot drop box located at the Pueblo County Sheriff’s substation: 320 E. Joe Martinez Blvd, Pueblo West, CO 81007 (map). Do not return your ballot to any other drop box.
- Will there be walk-in voting?
-
The Pueblo County Election Office will NOT take walk-in voters. Please return your ballot by mail or drop box.
- What if I need an absentee ballot? What if I haven't received by ballot?
-
To apply for an absentee ballot or if you have not received a ballot (to be mailed by April 17, 2023), please contact Community Resource Services at 303-381-4960. Their address is 7995 E. Prentice Avenue, Suite 103E, Greenwood Village, CO 80111.

You can register to vote online on the Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder website, https://www.pueblovotes.com.
- How do I check my voter registration status?
-
