Pueblo West Community Helps Less Fortunate Families During Holiday Season

Nearly 25 people showed up on Friday, Dec. 18, for the Annual Pueblo West Parks and Recreation Christmas Gift Wrapping at the Memorial Recreational Building. Children and adults of all ages came to wrap over 500 presents for 71 families that were less fortunate this Holiday season. The event which started at 2 p.m., lasted close to three hours, was organized by Parks and Recreation Director Carol Cosby and community citizen, Debbie Fortune. Prominent among those turning out to help in the Christmas cheer were District Manager, Larry Howe-Kerr, fire chief Brian Caserta and members of the Pueblo West Fire and Rescue team.

In addition to the presents, which were distributed on Monday, Dec.21, boxes of food were also given to the families after food drives were done by all Pueblo West elementary and middle schools.
