Youth Spring T-Ball
The Pueblo West Parks and Recreation offers T-Ball for youths during the Spring and Summer seasons.
The leagues are recreational and are not competitive in nature.
PROGRAM TIMES - Saturday mornings
April 10 to May 15, 2010
Youth T-Ball for ages 4-7 is a co-ed recreational program for all children. Children will learn developmental skills, sportsmanship, team participation and have lots of fun.
PRACTICES: Practices are the first 20 minutes before each weekly game.
GAMES LOCATION: Lovell Park
COST: $20.00 per child. There is a $25 fee on any returned check and there are NO REFUNDS AFTER PROGRAM START DATE.
COACHES MEET: April 1 from 6-8pm at the Parks and Rec office.
REGISTRATION: FEBRUARY 26 to MARCH 26 - Make checks to PW Parks & Rec. and mail or drop forms with fee to the Parks Office.
*Deadlines are established to meet team selection and scheduling for game times and coach meetings. Late registrations are subject to late fees if availability on teams permit for the program. For more information, please contact the Parks and Recreation office at 547-7400.
Youth T-Ball Rules
1. The distance between the bases shall be 45 ft.
2. The batters' circle will be used instead of a batters' box. The diameter of the circle will be 12 ft..
3. A batter will have 5 (five) attempts to hit the ball off the tee and out of the bartters' circle. An "out" will be counted if unsuccessful after five attempts.
4. Any batter whose bat is thrown out of the circle is automatically out.
5. A fair ball will be in play only after it rolls or is hit out of the circle.
6. All players must play a set position, i.e., first base, second base, pitchers, left fielder, etc. No play may posiiton him/herself closer that 20 ft. from another player.
7. Teams play with a maximum of (11) players on the field utilizing a left fielder, left-center fielder, right-center fielder and right fielder.
8. All players must play at least 1 (one) full inning on defense within the 1st or 2nd inning of play. Defensive positions will be rotated with each inning.
9. All players shall follow a roster batting order. If a player comes late. He/she shall be placed at the bottom of the batting order. All players will bat.
10. Games shall be 1 (one) hour long maximum.
11. The inning will change after the team has batted throughout their lineup. There will be NO "3 outs." The last batter will be allowed to run as fae as possible.
12. There is no bunting or sliding allowed. They will be "outs".
13. Only 1 (one) base is allowed to the runner on any overthrow.
14. The home run line will be the edge of the infield. Any ball rolling past this point will be a ground rule double. Any ball hit on the fly past this point is an automatic homerun.
15. There shall be 2 (two) umpires for each game. Each team shall supply 1 (one) umpire. When your team is on offense (up to bat), you will supply the home plate umpire. The home plate umpire will remove the batting tee after every hit ball. The home plate umpire will place the ball on the tee after the catcher catches the ball. The home plate umpire will count the number of swings and call an "out" after 5 unsuccessful attempts to hit the ball out of the circle. When your team is on defense (you are on the field), you will supply the umpire on the field to make the calls on the base paths. You will also help your players know where the play could be made at. This umpire should position themselves between the pitcher and the 2nd base. Do NOT stand in the outfield.
16. The umpire's decision is final on all calls.
17. Only players / or parents acting as umpires or base coaches are allowed on the field.
