What We Do
The Metro District Board of Directors understands that as Pueblo West grows it is critical that new businesses are recruited to the area. Economic Development falls under the purview of the Community Development Department but is truly a collaborative effort between most all departments in the District as well as the elected Board of Directors. The Metro District Board created an Economic Development Committee comprised of staff, board members, and local residents to spearhead marketing and promotion, proposal reviews, and other economic development activities and then provide recommendations to the Board. The Metro District is actively looking to recruit new retail and other commercial businesses to the area. New retail businesses will enrich the quality of life for residents and visitors, while new commercial businesses will create more primary jobs. Both are vital as Pueblo West continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in southern Colorado.
While new businesses are vital to sustaining the growing community of Pueblo West, it is equally vital that the community retains our local and established businesses. The Metro District supports local businesses and will help established businesses get connected to the resources they need to continue to thrive.
Business growth and expansion in Pueblo West is a win for the thriving business and a win for the community of Pueblo West. The Metro District is ready to help however we are able to encourage local businesses to grow and succeed in Pueblo West. Please contact us if your business is looking to expand in Pueblo West.
