More of a question. Has there been an attempt to allow chickens in the R-1 thru R-3 zones. If not how could then be done? Thanks for your suggestions.

Start improving the street throughout PW residential neighborhoods and make it a great place to live. The dynamics are already unique with the acre lots and adding this will improve the quality of living here and make it a more desirable place for others to move to. This will build our ecomony in the long run and residents of Colorado will know what PW has to offer. Improve Pueblo West neighborhoods and create a high standard of living.

The improvement of Purcell north of the roundabout adding a turn lane to stop people from passing on the shoulder has created a new problem of people using the center turn lane to pass in. Sooner or later there is going to be a huge crash and probably death as people using the turn lane to pass in are inevitably speeding. Something needs to be added to the center turn lane to stop or discourage this behavior. Center islands at the road intersections, break away reflective posts or something of that sort.

We know that this house is 18 years old and the previous owner stated that he could not get Pueblo Metro to work with him.
My husband Rory and I are concerned about the Roads and the ditch continuing to need work. We do not know if it is the responsibility of Pueblo Metro District to help us work on this issue. Also, we have the concern about the weeds close to the ditch area on E Cholla St.
We would appreciate if someone would contact us so that maybe we can work together to improve the area around our home or get some advice.
We are working diligently to improve our land and home.

Many are upset about the traffic light at Hwy 50 and Purcell. The left turn lane of West bound Hwy 50 at Purcell will be backed up about a football field long and from the time the light turns green to orange is literally 11 seconds. It will only allow 3 cars to legally turn before it turns orange. I have observed numerous vehicles blow through the orange and red light every time the light turns. This corner is notorious for accidents and it's all blamed on people blowing through red lights. Can this be fixed?

Grading Buckboard Ave North of Purcell. The road has been degraded since before completion of the newly renovated Purcell. The road is severely wash-boarded. Washboard roads often are more than a nuisance because they can encourage unsafe driving speeds and damage suspension systems.. It also creates a safety problem, because a car or truck that doesn't experience full contact with the ground might not be able to brake properly. It seems this road has been forgotten as it has not seen attention for well over 6 months. The road is down to a single lane down the center is some areas.

It is long and by the time they reach the slight bend most are going well over 30mph. Some even 45-50 mph. This is very unsafe. There are a lot of kids on our street and no sidewalks. None of which gives people the right to go over the posted speed. I would like to get something out in to slow cars down.

A short trail connects the Sierra Vista trail with Pueblo West high school and W Capistrano Ave. It is located about 400β south of W Spaulding Ave. There is a concrete bridge crossing the stream, but apparently the culvert is blocked forcing water to flow over the bridge. It becomes slippery with ice in winter and slippery from algae growth in summer. Would you please arrange to have the culvert cleared of obstruction to allow the stream to flow under the bridge? It will make the trail a safe route to school.

Why not our own Public Broadcasting Station? Correct me if I am wrong but I believe by law we must be provided the opportunity to have our own Public Channel.
If not then perhaps a youtube channel.

As residents living on Purcell Boulevard since 2011 in Pueblo West we have found the newly constructed turn lane has been used multiple times as a passing lane for speeding vehicles. We have three small children at home and find the circumstances to be very dangerous for a residential neighborhood. I know weβre not alone in this idea of it being a danger because there are always people honking at the vehicles that are passing them in the turn lane when they go by our house. That and there are always policeman parked along Purcell Boulevard waiting to catch people speeding.
I think the solution is pretty simple. Just install speed bumps or flexible delineators at the right locations in the turn lane of Purcell Boulevard.
It is a matter of time before a pedestrian or bicyclist is hit on this road by someone speeding or using the turn lane as a passing lane.
